1 ======= minutes for HEARFitter User's meeting on 26.03.2013 =========== 2 3 News: 4 upcoming relevant meetings: 5 → SM@LHC, 9-12 Apr, Freiburg (HERA, LHC talks) 6 → PDF4LHC, 17th April, CERN,: dedicated talk (VR) 7 → DIS13, April, Marseille: dedicated talk (RP) 8 → 5th Workshop of the APS Topical Group on Hadron Physics, 10-12 Apr, Denver, Coloraro (LHC talk) 9 → Abstract submitted to LHCP 2013 May, Barselona 10 11 - the HERAFitter-0.3.0 version is released and is publicly available, details: 12 - theory files have been separated from tar file, can be downloaded from the web page 13 - registration will no longer be required 14 - significant efforts on documentation: writeup, doxygen, release notes 15 - new download page which includes manual, release notes, links to external packages and HERAverager 16 17 Revised HERAverager release candidate is in preparation, more stable version available but 18 requires more improvements (plotting tools), plan to release: end April 19 20 Post beta-3 developments stays same, progress on Offset method in new chi2 scheme and code restructuring, 21 OpenMP code parallelisation (work in progress), improved plotting tools. 22 23 ===> presentation on QCDNUM CQD-QED evolution status, M. Botje: 24 - work ongoing, progress from last time in memory management, evolution tool. User's interface 25 and backward evolution is still to do, first beta release is expected next week for tests. 26 27 28 ===> presentation on ACOT update, F. Olness: 29 - updated status on k-factor issues, general suggestion to use 3 iterations to get stable 30 result vs true chi2 value (comment received: in HERAFitter currently several iterations are not 31 available, requires implementation), using full NLO results avoids K-factor problems but one has 32 to deal with numerical inaccuracies (possible to tune, would be useful to document), idea 33 to use HQSTF package from QCDNUM (Fixed Flavour) for k-factor technique. Aim for future - use 34 ACOT QCDNUM package.
